EL FAQ and Technical Information
1/ What are the differences of 25 series of el wire products?
A) Line body motif classifications act for cord (Need to depend on card, groove, glue, bracket shapes), hardwire (Oneself independent bended molding, analogous wire), consumer can use directly.
B)Product acts for finished goods classification (Consumer uses directly), half-finished product (According to use request oneself match)
C)25 serieses product just about point general already know market's classification, include accessory and driver.
D）EL wire must work by alternating current(AC),Ordinary glowing wire must be matched with the specific driver(DC3V ,DC12V etc) for direct current use.
E)The three types of EL wire:
Long life type: Life more than 3000 hours, Brightness: 80cd/ m2, Power: 0.25W/ m
Ordinary type: Life 100—1000 hours, Brightness: 140cd/ m2, Power: 0.4W/ m
Low price type: Life about 24 hours, Brightness: 60cd/ m2, Power: 0.4W/ m
F)Price of glowing wire: $0.15/m---$1.5/m
Price depends on the factors including lifetime,environment-friendly materials,voltage security,luminance and failure rate etc..Among them, only the luminous brightness can be evaluated by the users.Other factors are determined by the manufacturer’s raw materials and technology.
For example:(1)import materials and made-in-china materials;(2)environment-friendly materials and ordinary materials;(3)resistance to voltage breakdown;(4)whether there is a black mark at a 180 degree bend;(5)failure rate;(6)whether have China or European security quality certification;(7)continuous length of wire;(8)multi core structure or function( anti-tension,voltage stability,shapes etc);(9)after-sale service.
2/ What to do if wire doesn’t light up（ Supposing failure rate is 100%）?
A) To cut off the power promptly ,otherwise , inverter will be burned out; Check if power, driver and EL Wire connected correctly.
B) Check the end of EL Wire.
C) Cut 1 cm of wire off from the end to prevent the electrodes from connecting.
D) If wire suddenly doesn’t light up after several hours or days, check through above ways.
3/ Can the wires be used outdoors? Will the color fade?
A) Yes, they can.
B) The red and orange color may fade after one years.
4/ Does the material of Electro luminescent Wire pollute the environment?
A) No, it doesn’t.Main ingredients: copper wire, plastic PVC，PU，PE，TPU-------------
5/ Result of improper handling of wire such as pulling or bending too hard
A) Disconnection of light, black spots, risk of short,burn out the driver.
B) Removable black spots in the glowing wireWhen applied force,the light is non-continuous flashing.
C) Breakdown or short in the connection between the glowing wire and electric wire.
D) The thicker the glowing wire is, the better anti-tension it has.The anti-tension glowing wire must be specially made.
6/EL wire working condition
AC 90V-150V 1000-4000HZ, the better condition is 130V and 1000Ｈz.
7/ Price of driver
A) Driver working condition: DC1.5V,3V,6V,9V,12V,18V,24V,AC110V,220V,etc
B) Single driver can drive the length less than 1m、1-3m、3-5m，4-10m，5-30m，20-50m、30-100m，50-200m、over 200m etc.
C) The price of the driver: $0.5/pcs--$83/pcs
It depends on the factors: power(drive length) if protect environment, sdeadiness of electric devices,if controlled by multipath, general or custom, order quantities, special requirement( waterproof, radiating, etc.)
8/ What to do if driver does not work?
A) Check if power, driver and EL Wire are properly connected. (get through the power promptly, to cut off the power promptly if the el wire doesn’t light or work)
B) Check if the driver make a buzzing noise.Generally it makes tiny buzzing noise.
C) If the driver stops working after a use, let it rest for 3-5 minutes before using again.
D) The driver becomes hot if not properly connected with the wire. Unplug the driver.
9/ Why is there buzzing noise from drivers?
A)The brightness is based on frequency. So there is a buzzing noise when in high frequency.
B)There is no noise if you use integrated circuit chip or frequency is over 10K that man’s ears can’t hear.
10/ Relations between the Capacity of Driver and EL Wire.
A) The capacity of drivers should be compatible with the length of EL Wire. Or it could cause damage to wire and driver.
B) when larger capacity driver is used for shorter wire, the wire would be brighter but wire’s life time would be shortened.
C) when larger capacity driver is used for shorter wire, the switch will be no use.
11/ Warning
A) Be careful! Do not turn on driver if it is not connected to EL Wire. Inverter can not get though power while without using together with el wire, otherwise inverter will be damaged.
B) Do not bend the connected part of wire
12/ Is it true that the thicker the wire, the brighter?
A) It appears to be true due to the volume of the wire. In fact the brightness is weakened because of the thicker plastic coating.
B) The diameter of copper core only has 0.5mm、0.3mm、0.7mm，0.5mm is the general standard.

14/ Color and the brightness.
It is brighter for transparent and yellow-green color.
15/ Life time.
3000 hours indoors, 1000 hours outdoors. More than 5000 hours in dry environment. The lifetime is less in wet environment or in high frequency. Also, the lifetime is shorter for the brighter glowing wire.
16/ How does our Wire save electricity?
Our EL Wire cost 0.3 Watt per meter, 0.4 Watt per meter with driver.
17/ How to attach our EL Wire to a surface or an object?
You could use glue for plastics, groove, cable ties or clips.
18/ How long does your EL Wire work?
Our current drivers can work with 200 meters. We can manufacture 1000 meters.
19/ Is your EL Wire safe?
The electric current is 6mA/meter and does not result heat. And its material is none-toxic and none-hazardous.
20/ Are your EL Wires Waterproof?
Yes. The ends and connecting areas of wires must be properly sealed with waterproof glue.
21/ Are your EL Wire colorful?
Yes.
22/ Can you rotate the colors?
Yes. You can connect wires of different colors and use driver for multiple wires.
23/ Can your EL Wire connect with A/C Power directly?
No.
24/ why the EL wire can emitting light? Is there patent?
Electric field excitated the Fluorescence powder luminescence.All the ordinary patents have been overdue, so it’s sham there is the patent technology.
25/ The difference between driver and adapter.
A) Adapter is used to connect Output Power and driver (DC 12V, DC 3V,6V etc.). adaptor can not make the el wire light up.
B）Inverter (driver) is to connect el wire and make el wire work.
C）The electric current that DC adaptor give to inverter should be from 100 to 500Ma, bigger current will make the inverter hot and burn out .
26/ Can wires of different color, different diameters be connected?
Can be connected, because the core wire is the same diameter, but the more joints or connection, the higher the falure rates, the right connection is very important(pls.refer to assembing instruction or video), the conection parts should be fixed.
27/ How many colors are available for your EL Wires?
We are able to manufacture any colors you desire.
28/ How many kinks of drivers do you have?
We have 15 kinds of standard (popular) drivers and 85 items none-popular drivers.
29/ Life time of batteries for drivers.
Average of 30 hours for two batteries (AA, 3V) for 1 meter wire. Use12v
(8AA,5#) for 10Meter,it can work 50 hours, for 60 meter, it can work for 5 hours .
If the wire is fashing, the life time of batteries can be extended by 50%.
30/ KPT company has patent ?
KPT company has to be authorized China invention patent for 21 items, international PCT patent 2 items, American patent 2 items.Also 48 items of patent are being applied for KPT. KPT has the most EL patents at home and broad, and it,s the sole company for production research and development.
31/What is the pull your wire can bear ?
For Dia 2.0MM it can bear less than 1 kg pull. Special glowing wire can bear 40 kg pull.
32/what is guideline to evaluate the technology of your EL wire ?
Brightness(CD/M2），Life(hour)，work condition(voltage, frequency)
Standard Test：90V，200HZ，life for 5000 hours，brightness 2- 10CD/m2
110V，400HZ，life for3000 hours，brightness 2- 60CD/m2
130V,1000HZ， life for 1000 hours，brightness 2-130 CD/m2
180V, 4000HZ , life for 1000 hours，brightness 5-300 CD/m2
33/When start to research EL wire ?
U.SA. start to research in 1960 ,and Israel start industrialization in 1995.
China start to research in 1975 by Chinese Academy of Science Chuangchun Physics graduate school, and be industrialization in 2000 by KPT.
34/When is the origin electric luminescence technology start?
In 1930, U.S.A. start the mutuality technology research，In 1958 Chinese Academy of Science Chuangchun Physics graduate school begin to research.

If design with reason, it can be make double sides super thin luminescence board.
41/What is the difference between KPT high bright EL wire and common EL wrie?
High bright EL wire, the intensity is the three times of common EL wire, life can relatively reduce 30%. others is the same.
42/DC3V battery with external electric source jack working claim:
Battery can not work together with external transformer ,otherwise no
charge battery will blast.
43/Why the different diameter of the EL wire ,its color is variety?
Different diameter of EL wire , its color has a range variety. mainly because plastic dyestuff bright and thinness or thickness reflect that lead to. in addition different driver in different working condition ,also can cause color variety.
44/EL wire use situation suggest:
Indoor, dress, toys, advertisement suggest use Diameter S0.8-2.0MM.wire. Repeatedly bent el wire should be made specially.
Outdoor low construction (under 3 floors), suggest use Diameter 2.0MM-5.0MM wire.
Outdoor high construction (under 8 floors) ,suggest use neon net lamp, it can increase light area so can improve invisible distance.
45/What’s the difference between Shanghai Keyan Company , Shanghai Kerune Company and Chuangchun kerune company?
Chuangchun kerune company has move to Shanghai from 2002 ,Shanghai two companys part produce and sales .the three all be generally called KPT company..
46/KPT Co., has other produce?

47/If the EL panel and EL wire will heat when they work？
EL products should do not heat when they work, but if find it become hot ,pls shut the power supply immediately.。
48/What the difference between ELpanel and ELwire？
Both are the same in theory，just the panel need book for order，high cost，can not change the pattern.the wire is low cost ,the user can make any pattern by theirself.。
49/How to calculate the price of EL wire ？
ELwire semi-manufactured goods is sold by Meter,Driver is separate sold by each PC.EL wire finished product is sold by set, it already include driver.
50.Size of EL panel?
EL panel size is up to Silk screen printing machines, usually 80x2000px the maxium size is 100x2500px (1 square meters), But el panel can be connected to make maxium 10 square meters.
5l . EL panel lighting color
EL Phosphor lighting color is mainly Green, and Blue-green; by adding dyes, pigment etc. , can make white lighting color; All other colors is achieved by printing color on the surface of el panel.
52. Can EL panel be applied outdoor?
Not suggest to be used in door, especiall long time application, because the lighting color will vary and life time will be shorten.
53. The reason of EL panel brightness decreasing?
Mainly because the wet (water molecule) will make el raw material aged.
54. The feature of el panel/wire aging?
Surface become grey or dark when not working; Black dot appear when lighting.
55. Is EL panel /wire aged when not working/lighting?
Not aged for both el panel and el wire etc.

International and demestic EL inspection Standard:AC115V,400HZ。
57. Is EL panel/wire not light suddenly ?
When el panel/wire aging, its brightness will decrease gradually, not light suddencly.

It has half lifetime and full lifetime
59. Half lifetime？
Halftime refer to the time when the beginning brigness decrease to brightness;Halftime:3000hrs. Full lifetime :8000 hrs.
60．Electroluminescent products twinkle ？
To fuction by silicon chip inside the inverter, the time and multi pieces is also decided by electric silicon chip.
61．Electroluminescent Inverter Power?
Big size is driven by DC12Vplus a adaptor。Costume can use DC3V,4.5Vetc.
62. Can the el panel be cut?
Can be cut within special design, but not be cut at will.
63. EL lighting thickness?
Plus the protection film, Thickness is less than0.5mm.
64. Can el panel be used with AC220V/110V
Special made el panel can be used under AC220V/110V condition
65． How many colors of el phoshpor to make el panel?
EL phoshor color: Red（Poison）、Orange（low brightness）、Blue（Short time）、Green, among all colors, Blue and Green color is mostly applied.

The power is different with different manufacturers, The minimum is 60W/m2,

If brightness is over 100CD/m2, the lifetime will be decreased more
69．Why is long time spent in manufacturing EL panel sample?
Mostly use silk screen printing technology, time is required in plate making
70．Why is the EL Panel sample expensive?
Lots of raw material will be wasted while making the plate by silk screen printng, cost will be lowed only by mass production.
71.what’s the difference between “Luminescent”-“phosphores”-“irradiance”？

72. what is tricolor illumince powder?
Red ,Blue, Green three color light material simple called tricolor powder. it can be use as irradiance material ,display irradiance material, it main purpose is mix to realize white color light.
73. Does EL have UV irradiance？How many kinds of UV material ?
Many radiation material only can irradiance under UV light. it is light cause light ,concretely is : organic/mineral, long wave/short wave etc.
74. How many type of EL panel?
There are four kinds: EL plastic panel, EL porcelain enamel ,EL glass screen, EL grow cloth.
75. Does EL cool light can change picture like TV?
In theory it can realize matrix display, achieve letter pattern show, through electro circuit to control ,realize pattern display. Now in world only KPT Lighting is producing.
76. EL white light can as white as white paper?
EL white color is achieve by use of coloring matter, it will effect color in temperature、thinner different proportion condition.

It can. but only in round angle.

86. the technical date you should provide before produce when you order the EL panel?
Size、pattern、flash time、driver cable length.
87．EL Panel and EL Wire will heat when work？
Normal it do not heat ,only when driver connect wrong with EL panel. When connect long time ,it will damaged it’s parts of an apparatus ,even lead to burnning
88．Does EL devices have noise when work？
All EL devices have noise when work ,but expect use CMOS Chip type Driver.。
89．Why does EL advertisement panel can change color step by step？
EL back light mainly is white color, and white color is mixed by fluorescence dye ,it will fade step by step later or under UV light.
90．How many kinds of Electroluminescent？
Organic irradiancy apparatus（big /small molecule），inorganic fine film apparatus ，abio-thick film apparatus，abio powder apparatus（this products）.
91．The Voltage type of EL arraratus？
High Voltage（this products），low Voltage（LED、OEL or OLED）.
92．What the determinant of Plastic EL panel’s pliability？
Pliability decided the thickness of PET film,when it is less than0.1mm ,it will become very soft.
93. Can be used in dress？
Can ,but EL panel can not be wash.
94．What the brightness color of EL panel？
Blue green or green.
95．If the EL apparatus can change color?
It implement control through technics ,by cover the out surface ,It can achieve change color from vision.

Only small area Panel can use .
98．How to improve the brightness of EL panel？
Just improve the voltage, increase frequency can improve the brightness, but has limited, brightness can be in 150CD/Sq,m over.
99．Does EL panel has international patent limited？
The Panel has no international patent limited,but long life EL material have ,and China KPT company has its own patent .
